<sup>Andrew Garcia is a Cuban-Puerto Rican director from Miami, Florida, primarily focused on telling Latin coming of age stories through a docu-inspired lens. His voice is consistently personal, with cultural identity as the thematic foundation for his work.

In 2019, his film "La Piel De Ayer", shot in Puerto Rico during the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Maria, was acquired by HBO. His most recent narrative short, "Tumba Del Mar" (2023), screened at the Miami FF, HollyShorts, Florida FF and won Best Narrative Short at RiverRun.

Beyond film, Andrew has maintained a close connection to his roots. His piece for MLB "El Beisbol Es Otra Cosa" celebrating hispanic heritage in US baseball, received six Clio Awards in 2024, including Gold for Film. Andrew recently returned to Puerto Rico to direct reggaeton artist Lunay's music video, "Ojalá".

In 2025, Andrew's documentary short, "Densho", created in collaboration with electronic artist Shigeto on his family's experience in the WWII Internment Camps of Japanese-Americans, was presented in a dedicated exhibition at the Dallas Contemporary Art Museum. The film was nominated for the 1.4 Awards for Brilliant Filmmaking and can be viewed on Director's Library.

Andrew is currently in development for his first feature film, "All The Things I Wish I Could Say", which was one of ten projects accepted into the WEG Feature Film Pitch Lab (2024) and was a semi-finalist at the Ojai Film Festival Screenplay Competition (2025).</sup>
